Hemerocallis 'Prairie Blue Eyes' makes a leafy clump topped in midsummer by lavender flowers with a near-blue eyezone and green throat. The semi-evergreen foliage gives the plant structure outside its flowering display, while its distinctive flower pattern suits a sunny border or informal perennial bed.
## Garden Use
The [American Daylily Society registry](https://daylilies.org/cultivar/prairie-blue-eyes/) records a 28-inch scape and 5.25-inch flowers; the [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/61027/hemerocallis-prairie-blue-eyes/details) describes lavender-pink blooms to about 13 cm and a clump of arching green leaves. Use it in a sunny or lightly shaded position where the eyezone can be seen at close range.
## Growing Conditions
Provide fertile, moist but well-drained soil. It tolerates clay and a range of soil types, but flowering may be reduced in deeper shade. Water in dry spring weather to support flowering and maintain even moisture during establishment.
## Maintenance
Cut back spent flower stems after bloom and remove dead foliage as needed. Divide an established clump in spring or early autumn if it becomes crowded.
