About Prairie Fire Daylily

Hemerocallis 'Prairie Fire' bears yellow-cream flowers with a coral-red eyezone and green throat on upright scapes. This midseason daylily can rebloom, extending the display, and its semi-evergreen foliage forms a clump that remains useful between flower flushes. ## Garden Use The [American Daylily Society registry](https://daylilies.org/cultivar/prairie-fire/) records 26-inch scapes, 5.5-inch flowers, midseason bloom and rebloom. It describes the flowers as yellow-cream with a red-coral eyezone. Use this selection in a sunny border or grouped among other summer perennials, allowing room for its flowering stems to rise above the leaves. ## Growing Conditions Daylilies grow in full sun or light shade and adapt to a range of ordinary garden soils. A well-drained bed with consistent moisture during establishment supports a strong clump and reliable flowering. ## Maintenance Water during prolonged dry spells, especially in the first growing season. Remove spent scapes for a tidy appearance and divide clumps every few years if they become congested.
