About Raspberry Eclipse Daylily

Raspberry Eclipse is a fragrant daylily with raspberry-purple flowers, a lavender eye zone, a lemon-yellow ruffled edge, and a light-green throat. The American Hemerocallis Society records 34-inch scapes, 6-inch flowers, early-midseason bloom, and rebloom. ## Placement and display Grow this cultivar in a sunny perennial bed where its tall scapes can rise above the foliage and its detailed flower pattern can be seen. The flowers open for a day, while successive buds extend the display; the Society lists three branches on each scape. Its semi-evergreen foliage may persist in mild conditions and die back more fully in colder winters. Give the foliage enough room to form a broad base, and combine it with simpler neighboring flowers so the ruffled edge and eye zone remain easy to appreciate. ## Maintenance Remove spent flowers for a tidy appearance and cut back old scapes after flowering. Keep the soil evenly moist while plants establish; during dry periods, water deeply rather than sprinkling lightly. Divide the clump when it becomes crowded or flowering weakens.
