Rock Solid is a fragrant, reblooming daylily with light mauve flowers, an unusually broad dark-purple eye, and a matching picotee edge. Its branched scapes carry many buds, extending the color display beyond the first flush.
## Flowers and garden use
The plant grows about 27 inches tall and spreads 18–24 inches; Walters Gardens lists Zones 3–9. Flowers begin in early July, and the foliage goes dormant in winter. The contrasting eye and edge stand out in a border or a group planting, while the moderate clump size also suits larger containers. See the [Walters Gardens profile](https://www.waltersgardens.com/variety.php?ID=HMROS) for current size and color details and the [American Daylily Society record](https://daylilies.org/cultivar/rock-solid/) for registered cultivar characteristics.
## Growing conditions
Give it full sun or part shade and average, well-drained garden soil. Daylilies are adaptable once established; water during extended dry weather to support foliage and rebloom.
## Maintenance
Remove spent flowers and cut back scapes after their buds finish opening. In spring or fall, divide an overcrowded clump into smaller sections and replant promptly. Leave healthy foliage in place until it yellows naturally, then clear it before new growth begins.
