Create design onlineAbout Rosy Returns Daylily
Rosy Returns is a compact, fragrant daylily with rose-pink flowers, a deeper rose-purple eye, and a yellow throat. It blooms early and repeats, so a small clump can provide color over a long part of the growing season.
## Flowers and garden use
Plants reach about 14 inches tall and spread 18–24 inches. Walters Gardens lists the cultivar for Zones 3–9 and notes that it can bloom from June toward frost in Michigan. Use it near the front of a sunny border or in a container where the rounded pink flowers can be seen close up. The [Walters Gardens profile](https://www.waltersgardens.com/variety.php?ID=HMROR) provides cultivar size, season, and flower details; the [American Daylily Society record](https://daylilies.org/cultivar/rosy-returns/) records the hybridizer and reblooming habit.
## Growing conditions
Plant in full sun or part shade in moist but well-drained soil. The [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/220815/hemerocallis-rosy-returns/details) describes a clump-forming plant and lists clay, loam, sand, and chalk soils. Water during dry spells, especially before and during flowering.
## Maintenance
Remove finished flowers and cut back the scapes once their buds are spent. Clear dead foliage as it yellows. Divide the clump in spring or early autumn if it becomes crowded or flowering weakens.
