MSWNPERED Sandia Glow® Red Yucca

Sandia Glow® is a compact selection of red yucca with long, narrow leaves and watermelon-red flowers carried on tall stalks. It flowers over a long warm-season window, with the heaviest flush in spring and possible repeat bloom into fall. ## Form and Flower Mountain States Wholesale Nursery lists the mature clump at about 3 feet tall and wide, and describes it as smaller than the species. In UC Davis trials, plants flowered from spring into October; after two years, measured clumps were about 1.7 feet tall and 3.2–3.5 feet wide at the two sites. UC Davis recommends low irrigation in the tested California regions, while noting that reclaimed water may cause leaf-tip damage at one site. Water new plants to establish, then irrigate sparingly according to local soil and climate. ## Landscape Use The compact form fits a dry border, gravel garden, or repeated planting. Its red flower stalks also draw attention beside paths and patios. ## Maintenance Remove spent stalks after flowering to keep the clump tidy. Avoid cutting into the crown.
