About Carnival Candy™ Apple Coral Bells

‘Carnival Candy Apple’ is a compact Heuchera in Darwin’s Carnival series, grown chiefly for red and green leaves with silver accents. A neat foliage mound is lifted by creamy white flower spikes in summer, giving this coral bells cultivar seasonal color above and below the leaves. ## Garden Use Use it as a foliage accent in a container, at the front of a border, or in a small group as groundcover. The [Chicago Botanic Garden profile](https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plant-information/plant-finder/heuchera-carnival-candy-apple-carnival-candy-apple-coral-bells) describes a 12-inch-tall by 14-inch-wide mound, flowers to about 18 inches, partial to full shade, and good heat tolerance. It also records the Carnival Series connection and USDA zones 4–9. A Colorado State University perennial evaluation identifies the same cultivar from Darwin Perennials. ## Growing Conditions Partial shade supports the strongest foliage color, while full shade is also listed as a suitable exposure. Use soil that drains well and water according to local conditions. ## Maintenance Keep the crown at soil level and remove damaged leaves or finished flower stems as needed.
