About Circus™ Coral Bells

Circus™ coral bells form a compact mound whose foliage shifts from peach leaves with reddish veins in spring and fall to lime green with a silver cast and red veins in summer. Pinkish-purple flowers rise on red stems, and the cultivar is documented as heat and humidity tolerant ([plant patent](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP25495P2/en)). ## Foliage and Flowers The changing leaf colors give this selection interest before and after its summer bloom. The patent records average foliage height around 12 inches, flowering stems around 26 inches, and spread around 28 inches; allow space for the flowers above the low mound. It works at the front of a mixed border or in a container, where the seasonal foliage can be seen close up. ## Growing Conditions Plant in sun or partial shade in moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. The patent reports USDA zones 3–8, and the Royal Horticultural Society describes the plant as a clump-forming perennial with pink foliage in autumn and flowers through summer ([RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/316833/heuchera-circus/details)). Avoid waterlogged winter soil and provide extra water during hot, dry spells. ## Maintenance In spring, remove damaged foliage and mulch around the root zone without covering the crown. Cut back faded flower stems after flowering if you prefer a tidier appearance.
