Heuchera ‘Fire Alarm’ is a compact coral bells cultivar selected for glossy red foliage. The leaves are brightest red in spring and fall, then deepen to brown-red in summer; small pink flowers appear on stems above the mound in summer.
## Garden use
The foliage mound is about 9 inches tall and 14 inches wide, with flowering stems reaching roughly 13 inches. Its strong color suits a border, a container, or a shaded mass planting. Terra Nova lists it for USDA zones 5–9 and reports that cooler temperatures bring out the strongest red tones. [The breeder’s profile](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/heuchera-fire-alarm/) provides the cultivar’s dimensions, bloom months, color progression, and growing information.
## Growing conditions
Part shade protects the foliage from intense afternoon exposure, though the breeder lists full sun and full shade as options as well. Use well-drained, organic soil and average moisture; avoid leaving the crown in soggy soil.
## Maintenance
In early spring, remove tattered foliage and clear debris from around the crown. Leave healthy leaves in place through fall and winter.
