About Firefly™ Coral Bells

Firefly™ Coral Bells is a compact perennial with scalloped green leaves and airy stalks of bright red, bell-shaped flowers. It suits a container or part-shade planting where blooms can rise above its foliage mound. ## Growing conditions The Utah Conservation Garden Park identifies this selection as *Heuchera sanguinea* ‘Firefly’ and lists a mature size near 18 inches tall by 15 inches wide, USDA zones 3–8, and bloom from May through July. Give it sun or part shade and moderately moist, well-drained soil. Protect the crown from standing water and keep new roots from drying out. ## Seasonal use The red flower wands add a clear spring-to-summer accent above green leaves. Repeat the plant along a path or group several in a pot for a brighter display; the flowers also draw hummingbirds. [The Conservation Garden Park profile](https://conservationgardenpark.jvwcd.gov/plants/3015/firefly-coral-bells) provides selection-specific size, bloom, wildlife, and care information. ## Maintenance Remove faded flower stems to encourage another flush, and wait until spring to cut away winter-damaged foliage. Keep the crown slightly above the soil line and water during establishment.
