About Guacamole™ Coral Bells

Guacamole forms a vigorous mound of large, bright yellow-green leaves and sends up creamy-white bells on upright stems. This named hybrid is valued for strong growth, late-spring flowering, and greater sun tolerance than is typical of light-leaved coral bells. ## Garden Use Use Guacamole where its broad, luminous foliage can brighten a shaded border or a roomy container. The cultivar’s patent describes a compact foliage mound that rises substantially in bloom, so leave space for the flower stems as well as the leaves. The [RHS profile for Heuchera ‘Guacamole’](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/352428/heuchera-guacamole/details) lists creamy-white flowers and a clump-forming habit. ## Light, Soil, and Water Partial or full shade suits the pale foliage; the [cultivar patent](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP28463P2/en) records better sun tolerance than many light-leaved Heuchera, but exposure and moisture still affect color and vigor. Grow it in fertile, humus-rich soil that drains well and stays evenly moist. Water newly planted clumps during dry spells, and avoid winter-wet ground. ## Maintenance Remove weathered leaves in early spring and cut off spent flower stems if a tidier mound is preferred. The crown can gradually rise above the soil; divide and replant it with the crown just above grade when needed.
