About Lime Ruffles Coral Bells

Heuchera ‘Lime Ruffles’ forms a vigorous, rounded mound of large lime-green leaves with a frosty white overlay and deeply ruffled edges. White flowers rise on medium stems in late spring, while the broad foliage supplies the main garden display. ## Garden use Its substantial leaves and textured form make this selection useful as a focal foliage plant in shaded borders, woodland plantings, or larger containers. Terra Nova lists foliage about 11 inches high and 18 inches wide, with flower stems reaching about 24 inches. The cultivar belongs to the RUFFLES™ Series and has Heuchera villosa breeding, which the breeder associates with larger leaves and improved heat tolerance. ## Growing conditions Part shade to full shade is recommended; the breeder notes that it can tolerate full sun in the Pacific Northwest. Plant in organic, well-drained soil and provide average moisture, keeping established plants from sitting in excessive water. The listed USDA hardiness range is zones 4–9. ## Maintenance Leave the crown uncovered and trim tired leaves in early spring. Remove faded flower stems after flowering if a tidier clump is preferred.
