NORTHERN EXPOSURE™ ‘Red’ Coral Bells forms a dense mound of clear red to dark red foliage. Short flower stems carry greenish-yellow bells, and its leaves hold color later in the season.
## Garden placement
Terra Nova identifies this cultivar as *Heuchera* NORTHERN EXPOSURE™ ‘Red’ (‘TNHEUNER’), with foliage about 14 inches tall, a 20-inch spread, and hardiness in USDA zones 3–10. Use it in a border, mass planting, or container. It grows in sun to shade, with part shade useful where afternoon sun is hot. Choose organic, well-drained soil and keep the crown above the soil surface.
## Seasonal character
The red foliage gives a long display, while the breeder lists flowers from April through June. The Northern Exposure group was bred for cold hardiness; this selection also has a record of performance at zone 3 in Minnesota. [Terra Nova’s cultivar profile](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/heuchera-northern-exposure-red/) documents the selection’s code, dimensions, zones, and growing conditions; [North Carolina State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/heuchera-northern-exposuretm-group/common-name/alumroot/) describes the series’ soil and light preferences.
## Maintenance
Water consistently during the first growing season. Once established, avoid overwatering; remove old foliage in early spring and leave healthy leaves in place for seasonal color.
