About Silver Scrolls Coral Bells

Heuchera 'Silver Scrolls' is valued for rounded silver leaves with dark veins and burgundy-toned undersides. New leaves show pinkish-purple coloring before the metallic surface develops, and small pale flowers rise on reddish stems. The [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/166446/heuchera-silver-scrolls/details) describes the foliage and summer flowers; [The trial at Cuba Center](https://mtcubacenter.org/trials/heuchera/heuchera-silver-scrolls/) records late-May-to-early-July bloom and recommends shade after plants discolored in full sun. ## Size and placement Use it at the front of a partly shaded border or in a container where the patterned leaves are close to view. Trial measurements distinguish an 8-inch foliage mound, a 26-inch spread, and flower stems reaching about 30 inches; other cultivar listings report a narrower clump. Leave room for a spreading mound and use the wider range where site conditions favor larger growth. Moist, well-drained soil suits the plant. ## Maintenance Remove spent flower stems and damaged leaves as needed. Check the crown in spring, since heuchera crowns can gradually lift; add a thin layer of soil or mulch around the base without burying the crown. Divide an overcrowded clump to restore a compact outline.
