About Heuchera 'Tokyo'

Heuchera ‘Tokyo’ makes a broad, low mound of lobed lime-green leaves with a silvery veil, followed by dark stems carrying clear red bells. Its bright foliage and long summer-to-fall flower display suit shaded borders, woodland edges and containers; the cultivar belongs to the City™ series. Selection-specific traits and dimensions are described by [Pépinière.ca](https://www.pepiniere.ca/en/products/heuchera-city-tokyo) and [Gardenia](https://www.gardenia.net/plant/heuchera-tokyo). ## Landscape Use Use it at the front of a border or in a container where the rounded foliage can contrast with ferns, hostas or finer-textured shade plants. Red flower stems rise above the mound and draw hummingbirds and other pollinators. ## Growing Conditions Plant in partial or full shade, especially where afternoon sun is hot. A loose, organic soil that drains moderately well helps keep the crown healthy. Water consistently while it establishes, then avoid persistently wet soil. Sources place the leafy mound near 10 inches tall and about 20–21 inches wide, with flower stems reaching roughly 15 inches; leave space for its spread. ## Maintenance Keep the crown at soil level rather than burying it. Remove faded flower stems to tidy the plant and trim damaged leaves in spring; retain healthy foliage through winter where it remains attractive.
