About Heucherella 'Redstone Falls'

Redstone Falls is a named Heucherella grown for red and bronze foliage and a low, trailing habit. It spreads across the soil rather than building a tall upright mound; flowering scapes rise separately above the foliage, so the groundcover spread and flower-stem height describe different parts of the plant. The [Terra Nova profile](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/heucherella-redstone-falls/) and [USPP22394 patent record](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP22394P2/en) identify this exact selection. ## Site and layout Provide partial to full shade and humus-rich, well-drained soil with even moisture. The trailing stems work at the front of a shaded border, beneath taller plants, over a low edge, or around the rim of a container. Give it lateral space to fill in and avoid treating it as an upright shrub. Hot sun and dry soil can scorch the foliage. ## Seasonal interest Leaves provide the main color through the growing season, while airy white flower stems rise above the foliage in early summer. The low, spreading growth creates a continuous foliage layer and softens the edges of paths, beds, and containers. Use it where its leaf color can be viewed up close. ## Maintenance Water regularly through establishment and during dry weather; keep the root zone evenly moist without leaving it waterlogged. Apply a light mulch, leaving the crown uncovered. Remove damaged leaves and spent flower stems as needed, and divide the mat when it outgrows its space.
