About Luna™ Rose Hibiscus

Luna Rose is a rose-flowered rose mallow in PanAmerican Seed’s Hibiscus moscheutos Luna series. The breeder lists an upright plant 24–36 inches tall and 24 inches wide, with 6–8-inch blooms in summer and late summer, sun exposure, hardiness zones 5a–9b, and first-year flowering. [PanAmerican Seed’s Luna Rose profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/033102347004669/hibiscus-luna-rose/) ## Garden placement Choose a full-sun position and leave space for the listed height and spread. PanAmerican recommends Luna for large containers or perennial gardens and describes naturally bushy, well-branched plants. Its published dimensions make it easier to place the plant among lower perennials or in a container where the large flowers can be seen. ## Seasonal interest Expect blooms in summer and late summer. Flowers measure 6–8 inches across, giving the rose selection a substantial accent in a perennial bed or large container. Luna is a first-year-flowering seed series, so plants raised from seed can flower in their first growing season under suitable growing conditions. ## Maintenance Routine pinching is not needed to encourage branching, according to the breeder. Use the full-sun exposure and mature dimensions as the main siting guides, and allow the plant to develop its naturally bushy form.
