Diana is a deciduous Rose of Sharon cultivar with single, pure white flowers. It brings a bright late-season accent to sunny mixed borders and shrub beds, where its upright branching habit can be seen against darker foliage.
## Flowers and growth
The Royal Horticultural Society describes flowers up to 12 cm across in late summer and early autumn. Its mature size is about 1.5–2.5 m tall and 1–1.5 m wide, with flowering beginning after several years of establishment. The RHS lists Diana for acid or neutral soils and notes that it can grow in chalk, clay, loam or sand when drainage is suitable.
## Site
Plant in full sun in a sheltered position with moist but well-drained soil. The white flowers are suited to mixed shrub borders and flower beds, where the plant can develop a natural multi-stemmed shape. Water deeply during the first growing seasons and during prolonged dry spells; an organic mulch helps keep the root zone evenly moist.

## Maintenance
Prune in late winter to remove dead, damaged or crossing branches and lightly shape the shrub if needed. Avoid cutting healthy stems back hard each year; maintain the plant’s natural framework and allow new growth to carry the next flowering season.
