Create design onlineAbout Dwarf White Rose of Sharon
Dwarf White Rose of Sharon is a Hibiscus syriacus selection in a deciduous, multi-stemmed species grown for showy warm-season flowers. Rose of Sharon suits sunny or partly shaded borders, pollinator gardens, and flowering hedges where room is available.
## Garden Use
The species develops an erect, spreading outline with upright branches and works well as a flowering screen or hedge. Flowers occur in white, pink, purple, and bicolored forms among named selections, while fall foliage can turn yellow.
## Growing Conditions
Plant in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Rose of Sharon tolerates occasional dry or wet conditions, but avoid prolonged extremes and water deeply while establishing and during extended dry spells.
## Seasonal Interest
Showy flowers bring color to the warm-season garden, and brown seed capsules may persist through winter.
## Maintenance
Spring pruning can encourage flowers on new growth and increase flower size. Check local planting guidance before planting where Rose of Sharon is known to naturalize or behave invasively.
