French Cabaret™ Red Rose of Sharon

French Cabaret™ Red is the ‘Mindour1’ selection of Hibiscus syriacus, with clusters of bright red, double pom-pom flowers. This vigorous, upright, deciduous shrub flowers through summer and into fall. ## Garden Use The [First Editions profile](https://firsteditionsplants.com/product/french-cabaret-red-hibiscus/) lists a mature size of 5–8 feet tall by 4–7 feet wide, USDA zones 5–8, and full sun. Its large carnation-like flowers add a strong midseason color display, while the upright growth can add privacy or structure in a border. The breeder also identifies its flowers as sterile and notes that the plant fills in quickly. The [US plant patent](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP30101P2/en) confirms ‘Mindour1’ as the botanical selection. ## Growing Notes Give the shrub a sunny position and enough space for its mature spread. Its dense flowers provide color from summer into fall. ## Maintenance Water during establishment and in prolonged dry spells. Remove dead or damaged growth in early spring, and shape lightly then if needed.
