White Chiffon® is the white-flowered Hibiscus syriacus selection ‘Notwoodtwo’ (USPP12612), with large blooms and fluffy centers. It grows as a deciduous shrub with an upright, rounded habit and a mature range of about 8–12 feet high by 6–10 feet wide.
## Planting and Display
The large, crisp white flowers are especially noticeable in evening light, and the soft, graceful stems give the shrub a rounded outline. Use it in a mixed border, as a specimen, or where a summer flowering screen is useful. ## Seasonal Interest
White Chiffon® flowers over a long summer season, with blooms opening on new wood. Its dark green leaves are deciduous, so the shrub rests in winter and resumes growth in spring. The mature cultivar profile gives a height of 8–12 feet and a spread of 6–10 feet.
## Maintenance
Plant in sun with medium moisture and well-drained soil. The breeder notes that it tolerates a range of ordinary soils, avoiding sites that stay very wet or very dry. Prune in late fall or early spring if needed; heavy pruning is possible but usually unnecessary. Feed in early spring with a slow-release fertilizer formulated for trees and shrubs, following the product label.
