Sunshine Nymph is a Nymph-series Hippeastrum for dramatic indoor displays, with large coral-to-pink flowers and pale striping. Its sturdy stems carry nearly double blooms, and the foliage continues to grow during and after flowering.
## Flowering and use
The cultivar is sold as a winter houseplant and as a cut flower. [White Flower Farm](https://www.whiteflowerfarm.com/products/amaryllis-sunshine-nymph-one-bulb-in-nursery-pot) describes coral flowers with pink undertones and white stripes, while [Dutch Bulbs](https://www.dutchbulbs.com/products/double-amaryllis-sunshine-nymph) lists a double, funnel-shaped form and an 18-inch height. The [Fluwel product profile](https://www.fluwel.com/products/amaryllis-sunshine-nymph) lists a 40–50 cm plant height and describes it as a potted bulb.
## Growing conditions
Grow it in a sturdy container with free-draining potting mix, leaving about one-third of the bulb above the surface. Give the plant bright light and keep the soil slightly moist at first; increase watering as leaves and flowers develop. The genus belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family, as recorded by [Kew’s Plants of the World Online](https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn%3Alsid%3Aipni.org%3Anames%3A331211-2).
## Seasonal display
Indoor forcing brings the blooms into winter, commonly around January and February. Bulbs can be saved for another cycle if the foliage is allowed to mature.
## Maintenance
After flowering, remove the spent flower stalk but leave green leaves in place to replenish the bulb. Let foliage yellow naturally, then provide the dormant bulb a cool, dry rest before starting the next growth cycle.
