Create design onlineAbout Hippo White Polka Dot Plant
Hippo® White is a vigorous polka dot plant grown for green leaves flecked with crisp white markings. Proven Winners lists the exact ‘G15180’ selection at 16–22 inches tall and 8–14 inches wide, with an upright habit for part shade or shade ([cultivar details](https://admin.provenwinners.com/plants/hypoestes/hippo-white-polka-dot-plant-hypoestes-phyllostachya)).
## Placement
Use the foliage as a bright accent in shaded containers, window boxes, or warm-season beds. Its upright growth makes it a useful filler among flowering annuals, and the contrasting leaves add texture even when the plant is not in bloom. The breeder identifies this cultivar as heat tolerant and suitable for landscape or container use.
## Growing conditions
Provide bright indirect light or partial shade and protect the leaves from abrupt changes in exposure. Use a rich, well-drained mix and water regularly so the plant does not wilt; general polka dot plant guidance also recommends humidity and protection from prolonged direct sun ([care guide](https://www.provenwinners.com/learn/how-plant/polka-dot-plant)). It is perennial in zones 10–11 and is commonly grown as a foliage annual or houseplant in colder areas.
## Maintenance
The Hippo series is selected for vigorous, leafy growth and does not need deadheading for its foliage display. Pinch or trim stems if you want a denser outline, and move container plants indoors before cold weather where they can receive bright light.
