Hollywood Hibiscus Disco Diva Tropical Hibiscus

Hollywood Hibiscus Disco Diva is a tropical hibiscus selection with ruffled orange and fuchsia-to-deep-red-purple flowers. Its listed mature size is about 4 feet tall by 5 feet wide, with full-sun and zone 9 guidance from the seller ([product information](https://www.jberrynursery.com/portfolio/hollywood-hibiscus-disco-diva)). The patent record identifies the underlying cultivar as ‘JBG MH-17’, while Disco Diva is the marketed name ([patent record](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP34664P2/en)). ## Siting and season Use this warm-climate hibiscus as a flowering accent in a tropical border or container. The seller describes flowering from spring until first frost. Keep the soil moist while the plant establishes and site it in full sun for the flowering display; container growing makes it easier to move or protect where winters are colder than its listed hardiness. ## Maintenance Prune as needed to maintain the plant's shape. The seller recommends a balanced, low-phosphorus fertilizer or a slow-release application in early spring, plus mulch around the base through the year. Water consistently while roots establish, then adjust irrigation to local heat, rainfall, and container conditions.
