About Brim Cup - Hosta

Hosta ‘Brim Cup’ forms a compact, rounded clump of cupped dark-green leaves edged with broad cream margins that fade toward white. Its upright flower stems bear pale blooms in summer. ## Plant profile The cultivar profile lists a mature height of 12–14 inches and spread of 23–29 inches, while the Royal Horticultural Society describes plants reaching about 30 centimeters tall. The ovate leaves are slightly cupped and lightly corrugated. This deciduous perennial is suited to partial shade and small borders or containers. ## Garden care Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive soil that drains well. Water during dry spells and protect the clump from hot afternoon sun. Allow room for the leaves to display their cupped form along an edging or shaded path. ## Maintenance Remove dead foliage after it dies back and divide in spring or late summer when a larger planting is wanted.
