Brother Stefan - Hosta

Hosta ‘Brother Stefan’ is a large, wide clump with thick, deeply corrugated leaves and brilliant gold centers. Near-white flowers appear just above the foliage in late spring or early summer. ## Plant profile Walters Gardens lists mature foliage height at 20 inches and spread at 3 feet, with a separate 2-foot flower scape. The selection is hardy in USDA zones 3–9 and grows well in part shade to full shade. Its broad, textured leaves make it a focal point for shaded borders and woodland gardens. ## Garden care Provide moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Morning light may help intensify the leaf colors, while hot afternoon sun can damage hosta foliage. Keep the root zone evenly moist during dry weather. ## Maintenance Remove dormant foliage in early winter or before new growth begins. Divide established clumps when they outgrow their space.
