Hosta ‘Fantabulous’ forms an upright, medium-size mound of dark green, heart-shaped foliage with broad creamy-white margins. The American Hosta Society records it at about 26 inches high and 38 inches across, with a moderate growth rate, and lists its parent as a hybrid of Hosta ‘Fascinator’ ([registration](https://www.hostaregistrar.org/search_item/1724)).
## Foliage and flowers
The slightly rippled leaf margins become whiter as summer progresses, while lavender-purple flowers rise above the foliage in summer ([RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/209010/hosta-fantabulous-v/details)). The variegated leaves carry the display through the growing season even when the plant is not in bloom.
## Growing conditions
Grow in partial or full shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Its medium stature suits a mid-border position or a specimen planting in a woodland garden; leave room for the mature 38-inch spread.
## Maintenance
Keep soil consistently moist during dry spells and remove yellowed leaves as the plant enters dormancy. Divide the clump in late summer or early spring when you want additional plants or need to reduce its footprint.
