About Twilight - Hosta

Hosta ‘Twilight’ forms a broad clump of dark green leaves edged in yellow. Pale lavender flowers appear in July, and the cultivar is listed for USDA Zones 2–9. ## Foliage and setting The thick, glossy foliage gives this selection a bright edge in a shaded planting. Plan for a 20–21 inch-tall clump and allow about 28–39 inches of spread. It grows in partial to full shade and accepts chalk, clay, loam or sandy soil when moisture is average to moist and drainage is adequate. Use it where the foliage can be seen close up, such as a shaded border or beneath taller plants. The [Perennials profile](https://www.perennials.com/plants/hosta-twilight.html) and [RHS listing](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/137026/hosta-twilight-fortunei-v/details) describe its mature form and site preferences. ## Seasonal interest The yellow margins contrast with the dark green leaf centers through the growing season; pale lavender blooms rise above the clump in midsummer. The glossed leaves keep a dark green center inside a broad yellow margin ([MyHostas](https://myhostas.be/db/hostas/Twilight)). ## Maintenance Keep the soil evenly moist during dry weather and remove damaged or dying leaves as needed. Give the clump room to develop its broad outline.
