Hosta ‘Fragrant Blue’ is a compact mound of glaucous blue-green foliage with fragrant pale lavender flowers that fade toward white. Direct garden references list it for USDA Zones 3–8.
## Foliage and setting
The low mound is suited to partial or full shade, including a shaded border or groundcover planting. Allow about 8–9 inches of height and 12 inches of width. Its cool foliage color contrasts with brighter green neighbors, while the scented flowers add interest in June and July. Mature dimensions and site information appear in the [Chicago Botanic Garden listing](https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plantcollections/plantfinder/hosta_fragrant_blue--fragrant_blue_hosta); the [RHS listing](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/92441/hosta-fragrant-blue/details) describes its foliage and flowers.
## Seasonal interest
Fragrant flower stalks appear in summer, shifting from pale lavender toward white. Compact dimensions and June–July flowering are also reported by [MyHostas](https://www.myhostas.be/db/hostas/Fragrant%2BBlue).
## Maintenance
Keep soil evenly moist during dry periods and remove damaged leaves as needed. Allow space for the mound and its flower stalks to develop.
