Komodo Dragon - Hosta

Hosta ‘Komodo Dragon’ is a very large, clump-forming hosta with broad, rippled dark green leaves. It forms a vigorous, coarse-textured mound, with cultivar-specific sources listing about 30 inches tall and a 7-foot spread. Tall flower scapes rise above the foliage in summer. The broad spread calls for a spacious bed; shelter the plant from cold, drying winds and keep the soil from drying out. Clear dead leaves after the plant dies back at the end of the growing season, and watch for slug or snail damage; container-grown hostas may also be susceptible to vine weevil.
