About Krossa Regal - Hosta

Hosta 'Krossa Regal' is a large hosta with wavy blue-green leaves and a distinctive upright, vase-shaped habit. Its architectural foliage makes a strong focal point in a shaded garden, where the clump has room to broaden. ## Form and bloom At maturity it reaches about 40 inches high and can spread 3–6 feet, with lavender flowers on tall scapes from midsummer into late summer. Its upright leaves provide structure through the growing season, and the foliage may take on yellow-orange tones as autumn approaches. Dappled light or gentle morning sun can work, while hot afternoon exposure is best avoided. It is hardy in USDA zones 3–9. Water during dry spells, especially while plants establish, and allow enough space for a mature clump. ## Maintenance Remove frost-damaged foliage after dormancy and apply a light winter mulch where needed. Divide established clumps in spring when they outgrow their space, and check for slugs during wet weather. Keep the crown above standing water and renew organic mulch as it breaks down.
