About My Fair Lady hosta

Hosta ‘My Fair Lady’ is an upright hosta with cascading, tri-colored foliage and large white flowers in early summer. Deep blue-green leaves carry apple-green jetting around creamy yellow centers, bringing a bright focal point to a shaded border. ## Foliage and scale Walters Gardens lists this selection at about 17 inches tall with a 36–40 inch spread. Its broad leaves and proportionate flower scapes suit the middle or front of a shade planting, where the foliage can be viewed from above and the wide clump has room to develop. The white flowers rise above the leaves in early summer. ## Siting Part shade to full shade and moist, well-drained, organic-rich soil support strong hosta growth. High-filtered or dappled light is preferred; morning sun can intensify leaf color, while hot afternoon exposure may scorch foliage. Acidic to neutral soil is suitable. ## Maintenance Keep soil moist early in the growing season without waterlogging it, then allow it to dry slightly between waterings. Watch leaves for holes that can indicate slugs. In colder areas, a light winter mulch can help limit heaving; remove dormant foliage in early winter to reduce hiding places for leaf-eating pests.
