Hosta ‘Regal Splendor’ forms a strongly upright, vase-shaped mound of pointed, glaucous blue-green leaves edged in creamy yellow to ivory. Pale lavender flowers rise on tall scapes in mid to late summer. Published mature-size reports differ: [Joy Creek](https://www.joycreek.com/Hosta-Regal-Splendor-039-045.htm) gives 24–36 inches of height, while the [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/45420/hosta-regal-splendor-v/details) lists a broader 1–1.5 metres high and 0.5–1 metre wide.
## Garden Use
Set this architectural hosta where its upright silhouette can stand out in a shaded border or woodland bed. The narrow pale margins frame the cool-toned foliage, and the tall flower scapes add a second vertical layer in summer. Walters Gardens identifies ‘Regal Splendor’ as a sport of ‘Krossa Regal’ in its [Hosta award profile](https://www.waltersgardens.com/photo_essay.php?ID=96&view=Slideshow).
## Growing Conditions
Choose partial shade and fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Shelter leaves from cold, drying winds and avoid letting the root zone dry for long periods. A sheltered east-, north-, or west-facing position suits the RHS profile; well-drained loam is a practical choice.
## Maintenance
Divide in early spring or late summer if needed, but mature clumps can remain in place. Clear dead foliage when it dies back at season’s end and check for slugs, snails, or vine weevil. The RHS profile lists division and seasonal foliage cleanup as routine care.
