Create design onlineAbout Hydrangea Invincibelle Ruby®
Invincibelle Ruby® is the smooth hydrangea selection ‘NCHA3’. Dark burgundy buds open to ruby-red and silvery-pink flower clusters above dark green leaves; mature plants reach about 3–4 feet tall and 2–3 feet wide, with summer bloom in USDA Zones 3–8.
## Garden Use
Place this rounded shrub in a mixed border or group planting, where the two-tone flower heads provide summer color. The grower also lists it for landscapes and cutting gardens. Part sun to sun and average water are suitable; keep soil evenly moist and well drained while the shrub establishes.
## Color and Season
The cultivar flowers on new wood, so it blooms on the current season’s stems. Its flower color is ruby red with silvery pink, and the foliage is green. The selection denomination is ‘NCHA3’; U.S. plant patent USPP28317 was issued in 2017.
## Maintenance
For a strong framework and abundant flowers, cut the shrub back by about one-third in spring as new growth begins. Mulch helps conserve soil moisture; deadheading is not required.
