Invincibelle Wee White® is the dwarf smooth hydrangea selection ‘NCHA5’. Its nearly white, blush-pink flower heads mature to creamy white above a compact green-leaved mound; it flowers from summer into fall and is hardy in USDA Zones 3–8.
## Garden Use
Use this low-growing shrub along a border, in a flower bed, container, or group planting. It prefers part sun to sun; afternoon shade can help in hot climates, while adequate light supports stronger stems and abundant flowers. Keep the soil evenly moist and well drained. Smooth hydrangea flowers on new wood, so cold-damaged older stems do not prevent that season’s new growth from blooming.
## Size and Season
Proven Winners lists both height and spread at 1–2½ feet; Missouri Botanical Garden lists a 2–3-foot spread. The current 0.6-meter width estimate fits both references, and the 12–36-inch display range covers their combined spread guidance without selecting a new numeric point. ‘NCHA5’ is the breeder selection name; USPP30296 was issued in 2019.
## Maintenance
Cut stems back by about one-third in spring as new growth appears. Mulch the shallow-rooted plant to help retain moisture; deadheading is unnecessary. [Proven Winners](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/hydrangea/invincibelle-wee-white-smooth-hydrangea-hydrangea-arborescens) provides cultivar-specific flowering, sizing, and pruning guidance; [Missouri Botanical Garden](https://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/gardens-gardening/your-garden/help-for-the-home-gardener/advice-tips-resources/visual-guides/hydrangeas-for-the-midwest) documents its alternate spread range and medium water needs; [North Carolina Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/hydrangea-arborescens/common-name/smooth-hydrangea/) gives species-level siting advice; the [patent record](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP30296P3/en) names NCHA5.
