Create design onlineAbout Endless Summer® Blushing Bride Bigleaf Hydrangea Shrub
Endless Summer® Blushing Bride is a reblooming bigleaf hydrangea with rounded growth and glossy green foliage. Its white mophead flowers have mostly semi-double florets and mature toward pale pink or light blue as soil aluminum availability changes. The cultivar flowers on both old and current-season growth; its patent records May-to-October flowering in Athens, Georgia, so local timing varies with climate. ## Flowers and Foliage
The showy mopheads emerge white, then develop blush pink or light blue; aluminum in the soil affects this color shift. Glossy dark-green leaves turn yellow to red in autumn. The patent describes a rounded habit and the cultivar’s reblooming trait, while NC State Extension lists ‘Blushing Bride’ among semi-double, white-to-blush-or-blue cultivars.
## Siting and Use
Grow in partial or dappled shade and protect the shrub from hot afternoon sun. Use it as a flowering landscape shrub or in a container. Plant in well-drained soil; bigleaf hydrangeas tolerate occasional wet soil, but should not stand in persistently saturated ground. These siting recommendations describe H. macrophylla generally and may need adjustment for local climate and soil.
## Maintenance
For shaping, prune before August 1 so you are less likely to remove older stems carrying the first flower flush. This cultivar also flowers on new growth, which supports reblooming later in the season. Keep healthy stems where possible and remove only damaged growth; check local extension guidance for timing in your climate.
