About Pink Dynamo™ Mountain Hydrangea

Pink Dynamo™ is a compact mountain hydrangea with vivid hot-pink lacecap flowers above silky, dark foliage. The cultivar listing gives a mature size of 2–3 feet tall and wide, with blooms from early summer into fall. ## In the Garden This selection is listed for Zones 5–9 and part sun, with about three feet of spacing. Its reblooming season and pollinator-friendly flowers add color through the warmer months, while the small mature size keeps it modest in a mixed shrub border. The breeder identifies the selection as Hydrangea serrata ‘JPD01’ (USPP33412, CPBRAF). See the [Bloomin’ Easy cultivar page](https://bloomineasyplants.com/plant/hydrangea-serrata-pink-dynamo/). ## Maintenance Mountain hydrangeas grow best in fertile, moist, well-drained soil and light to open shade. Water consistently through summer heat. Little pruning is needed: because H. serrata flowers on previous-season stems, prune lightly after flowering and remove weak or winter-damaged stems in early spring. [NC State Extension’s species guide](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/hydrangea-serrata/) provides this general care guidance for Hydrangea serrata.
