First Editions Pumpkin is the 'Kolmapuki' selection of hybrid *Hypericum × inodorum*, a compact shrub with an upright, outward-spreading habit. Yellow spring flowers give way to orange fruits in late summer and fall, so it contributes both bloom and a second season of color. [Plants Nouveau](https://www.plantsnouveau.com/plants/shrubs/hypericum-pumpkin) lists 30–36 inches for height and width, zones 6–9, full sun to part shade, and moist, well-drained soil; [USPP24576P2](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP24576P2/en) for 'Kolmapuki' issued June 24, 2014.
## Garden use
Use it in a foundation planting, border or small urban garden, or grow it in a container with good drainage. Plants Nouveau also lists cutting and wildlife gardens; the distinctive orange fruit is useful in seasonal arrangements. The cultivar is rust resistant.
## Maintenance
Keep soil evenly moist without leaving roots in standing water. Prune in early spring to encourage a full plant and a good flower and fruit display. Leave some fruiting stems through fall if you want the orange display to persist.
