Mermaid Lavender Candytuft

Mermaid Lavender is the lavender color variety in Syngenta’s Mermaid series of Iberis x hybrida, identified by product code 70079900. It forms a mound in full sun and produces rich lavender flowers from mid-spring through summer, with the breeder reporting additional flowering into fall. ## Season and size Syngenta lists a height of 13–18 inches, a width of 6–8 inches, and hardiness zones 5a–9a. The breeder classifies the product as pollinator-friendly and lists medium vigor; its published color range is purple, lavender, and violet. ## Growing notes Syngenta says Mermaid needs no vernalization and helps extend the Iberis season. The page presents its botanical name, series, and color variety separately, preserving its distinction from other Mermaid selections. ## Maintenance For a related evergreen candytuft, RHS recommends a light trim after flowering. Treat this as general Iberis guidance rather than a Mermaid-specific schedule.
