Illuminati Arch Mockorange

Illuminati Arch® is a Proven Winners ColorChoice Philadelphus coronarius selection with white, fully double flowers, a sweet fragrance, and thick dark-green foliage. Spring Meadow Nursery describes a manageable 4-foot plant, flowering in spring, and gives a USDA hardiness range of Zones 4–7. ### Site and season Set it in full sun or part sun; the [Spring Meadow Nursery plant page](https://springmeadownursery.com/plantfinder/illuminati-arch-philadelphus-59970) notes that at least six hours of sun favors stronger flowering and fragrance. Well-drained soil with even moisture supports growth. Its 4-foot mature height and width suit mixed borders and foundation plantings. ### Garden character The double flowers and durable foliage distinguish ‘SMNPBD’. The exact cultivar is also documented in its [U.S. plant patent](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP32395P2/en), which names Philadelphus coronarius ‘SMNPBD’; the patent record describes its upright habit and full double petals. ## Maintenance This plant blooms on old wood, so prune immediately after flowering if shaping is needed. Periodic renewal pruning can remove older stems while preserving the next season’s flowering shoots; see the [Spring Meadow growing guidance](https://springmeadownursery.com/plantfinder/illuminati-arch-philadelphus-59970).
