Illuminati Spice™ Mock orange

Illuminati Spice® is a fragrant Philadelphus coronarius selection bearing abundant, doubled white flowers on elegant stems. Spring Meadow Nursery describes a manageable 4-foot height and spread, with early-summer bloom and USDA hardiness in Zones 4–8. ### Site and season Grow it in full sun or part sun in well-drained soil with even moisture. The [Spring Meadow Nursery plant page](https://springmeadownursery.com/plantfinder/illuminati-spice-philadelphus-61060) notes that six or more hours of sun improves flowering and fragrance. Use it in mixed borders or foundation plantings where its white blooms and scent can be enjoyed. ### Selection identity The formal cultivar denomination is ‘SMNPSDW’. The [U.S. plant patent record](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP35784P2/en) documents that denomination; it is cited here as identity evidence, without implying current legal status. ## Maintenance Illuminati Spice blooms on old wood. If pruning is needed, wait until after flowering; periodic rejuvenation can remove older canes while retaining the current season’s flowering display.
