Create design onlineAbout Celebration Rose Star New Guinea Impatiens
Celebration Rose Star is a compact, mounded New Guinea impatiens with large, two-tone red-purple flowers and dark foliage. Ball FloraPlant identifies this selection as ‘Balcelrost’; its [Ball Seed profile](https://info.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=034900274004715) gives a 10–12 in. height and spread and spring–summer flowering.
## Landscape use
Use this well-branched, container-friendly annual as a close-view accent in pots or seasonal displays. Ball lists a 10–14 in. spacing and notes that the large blooms cover the plant. The mounded form also fits a shaded border where flowers can be enjoyed near paths, entrances, or seating.
## Growing conditions
New Guinea impatiens grow in sun or shade but perform best in partial shade and evenly moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. More sun increases water demand; avoid letting the root zone become either waterlogged or dry. See [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/impatiens-hawkeri/) for species siting and soil guidance and [Iowa State Extension](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/faq/what-are-cultural-requirements-new-guinea-impatiens) for watering advice.
## Maintenance
Water regularly, checking container plants frequently in hot or windy weather. Ball lists heavy water needs, recommends feeding every two weeks, and notes that spent blooms do not need to be removed. Grow it as a warm-season annual where frost occurs.
