Divine™ Orchid New Guinea Impatiens

Divine™ Orchid is a New Guinea impatiens selection in PanAmerican Seed’s F1 Divine series, described in the breeder catalog as having distinctive saturated purple-pink tones. The series is listed at 10–14 inches tall and 12–14 inches wide and is recommended for shaded landscape packs and small pots. ## Growing The species is Impatiens hawkeri, an herbaceous annual in the Balsaminaceae family with a mounding habit. It performs best in partial shade and moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter; the species tolerates a wider range of light, but sunnier sites need more water. Use this selection in shaded beds, packs, containers, and hanging baskets. New Guinea impatiens flowers from spring through fall, and the Divine series is promoted for its vigor in planters and landscapes. ## Maintenance Keep the soil evenly moist without leaving it waterlogged or letting it dry out. Check hanging baskets and containers frequently, especially in hot or windy weather, and reduce exposure if foliage shows sun stress.
