Super Sonic® Lilac Impatiens

Super Sonic® Lilac is the lilac-flowered selection in Syngenta’s Super Sonic® New Guinea impatiens series (product 70003750). Syngenta describes it as vigorous and mounding, with purple/lavender/violet flowers, 14–18 inches of garden height and width, and flowering in mid-spring, late spring, and summer; listed exposures are full shade, part shade, and part sun ([Syngenta Flowers](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70003750)). ## Growing Notes New Guinea impatiens (Impatiens hawkeri) is a tender annual in Balsaminaceae, native to New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. NC State Extension recommends partial shade and moist, organic-rich, well-drained soil, with extra water in brighter exposures; it also describes the species for containers, baskets, patio displays, beds, borders, and mass plantings and notes that it can attract butterflies ([NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/impatiens-hawkeri/)). ## Maintenance Keep the root zone evenly moist and allow excess water to drain. Check container soil regularly, especially in warm or brighter settings, and water before it dries; maintain consistent moisture without waterlogging.
