About SunPatiens® Spreading Shell Pink Sunpatiens

SunPatiens® Spreading Shell Pink is a named impatiens hybrid with soft shell-pink flowers and an outward-spreading habit. It fills open bed edges and broad containers with a low, wide seasonal display. ## Selection and placement The 2015 All-America Selections winner sheet lists it for sun and partial shade and gives a mature range of 22–32 inches tall by 14–18 inches wide. Use its lateral growth along a border where stems have room to spread, or in a wide patio planter. The pale flowers pair well with dark foliage and stronger pink or purple annuals. The [AAS winner sheet](https://all-americaselections.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/AAS-Winner-data-sign-5-x-7-V-Impatiens-Spreading-Shell-Pink-2015.pdf) records the exact selection, flower color, habit, and size; [Sakata’s SunPatiens lineup](https://www.sakataseed.co.jp/special/SunPatiens/line_up/index.html) provides breeder-series context. ## Maintenance Plant after cold nights have passed, in fertile soil that drains freely. Water thoroughly while roots establish, then keep moisture even through hot or dry periods; check containers more often than garden beds. Leave enough space for stems to expand laterally and remove damaged growth as needed. Avoid letting the root zone remain waterlogged.
