Spectra™ Pink Bicolor is an interspecific New Guinea impatiens with pink/rose flowers and a mounding habit. Syngenta lists a garden height of 10–14 in. and width of 10–14 in., with flowering mid spring, late spring, summer and full shade, part shade, part sun exposure. ## Placement and bloom
Use this selection in containers or hanging baskets, and place it where its bicolor flowers can brighten a shaded or partly sunny display. Syngenta describes Spectra as earlier flowering than standard New Guinea impatiens, with season-long landscape color in shade or part sun and low-maintenance performance.
## Growing conditions
New Guinea impatiens generally prefer partial shade and moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter; more direct sun increases water demand. [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/impatiens-hawkeri/) Keep containers evenly moist rather than wet or dry, and check hanging baskets and pots often in warm or windy weather. ## Maintenance
Water when the container mix begins to dry and let excess drain freely. Check plants more often during hot, windy periods, when containers may need daily watering. Adjust watering to local weather and the container’s drying rate while avoiding saturated soil.
