Spectra™ White is a white-to-cream, interspecific New Guinea impatiens with a compact-medium, mounding habit. Syngenta lists a garden height and spread of 10–14 inches, flowering from mid-spring through summer, and exposure from full shade to part sun. The selection is identified by product code 70086583.
## In the garden
Use this annual in shaded and partly sunny borders, mass plantings, containers, and hanging baskets. The breeder describes the Spectra series as early flowering, with more flowers than standard New Guinea impatiens, and reports downy mildew resistance and quick recovery after rain; these are breeder-described advantages, not a guarantee of identical performance at every site. ## Growing conditions
New Guinea impatiens are used as annual bedding plants. UF/IFAS describes the group as suited to part shade and part sun and lists border, mass-planting, and container uses. Illinois Extension notes that moisture-retaining soil and good drainage benefit New Guinea types. Check containers and beds during warm weather, water as needed, and allow excess water to drain. ## Maintenance
Maintain regular moisture without leaving the root zone waterlogged, and follow the fertilizer directions for the growing medium. Inspect plants during the season for wilt or damaged foliage and adjust care to local heat, rainfall, and exposure. As an annual, replace it when frost or seasonal decline ends the display.
