Create design onlineAbout Harmony® Colorfall™ Neon Red New Guinea Impatiens
Harmony® Colorfall™ Neon Red is a trailing New Guinea impatiens with large neon-red flowers and a naturally branching, semi-trailing form. Danziger lists it as early flowering, with a 12–14-inch height, a 14–16-inch spread, and uses including pots, hanging baskets, ground cover, and landscape plantings.
## Planting and use
Its trailing form suits a hanging basket or patio pot where stems can fall over the edge, and it can also fill a landscape planting. The [Colorfall series article](https://www.danzigeronline.com/blog/new-guinea-impatiens-harmony-colorfall-series/) describes natural branching and performance from shade to partial sun; the exact [Neon Red product page](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/harmony-colorfall-neon-red/) lists the series form, measurements, and United States Patent 11,324,176.
## Growing conditions
For New Guinea impatiens generally, [Iowa State Extension](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/faq/what-are-cultural-requirements-new-guinea-impatiens) recommends morning sun with afternoon shade and moist, well-drained soil. Check baskets and containers often, watering when the soil surface dries; landscape beds generally need a deep weekly soaking. Avoid soil that stays wet or dries out.
## Maintenance
Plant outdoors about two weeks after the average last spring frost, following local frost conditions. Check hanging baskets and small pots daily during hot, windy weather. Danziger describes Colorfall as naturally branching without pinching, so leave room for the trailing stems and remove spent growth only when needed for appearance.
