About Harmony® Dark Lilac New Guinea Impatiens

Harmony® Dark Lilac is a named New Guinea impatiens in Danziger’s HARMONY® series, with large dark-lilac flowers and an early flowering start. The breeder describes its habit as mounded and gives a mature size of 14–18 in tall by 12–14 in wide; the RHS plant record lists the cultivar name ‘Danhardalil’. [Danziger](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/harmony-dark-lilac/) · [RHS](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/310492/impatiens-harmony-dark-lilac-danhardalil-harmony-series-ng/details). ## Form and placement Use this compact mound in pots, hanging baskets, or landscape beds, where its saturated bloom can accent a patio, walkway, border, or foundation planting. Danziger describes the flowers as large and the series as providing color through the season. [HARMONY® series](https://www.danzigeronline.com/series_annuals/harmony/). ## Light and water New Guinea impatiens generally perform best in partial shade and moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter; plants in sunnier positions need more water. NC State describes flowering from spring through fall and use in containers, hanging baskets, borders, walkways, foundation and mass plantings; butterflies may visit. Its profile lists USDA hardiness zones 10a–12b, while the plant is commonly grown as a warm-season annual elsewhere. [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/impatiens-hawkeri/). ## Maintenance Keep the root zone evenly moist while allowing excess water to drain. Check container soil regularly in warm weather and after a move to brighter light. Remove weather-damaged foliage as needed.
