Dazzler® Violet Impatiens

Dazzler® Violet is a violet-flowered selection in PanAmerican Seed’s Dazzler® Series of bedding impatiens. In its 2016 catalog, PanAmerican lists Violet among the series colors and describes coordinated flowering through frost. ## Size & Season PanAmerican gives the series a 9–11 inch height and 13–15 inch spread. Plants flower together across the color range and suit pack, 4-inch pot, and basket production ([PanAmerican Seed 2016 catalog](https://www.panamseed.com/documents/catalogs/14520_PASKieft_2016Catalog-LowRes.pdf)). ## Site & Use Grow it in partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Iowa State University Extension recommends partial shade for garden impatiens and notes that plants in brighter exposures need more frequent watering ([Iowa State University Extension](https://yardandgarden.extension.iastate.edu/how-to/growing-impatiens-home-garden)). Use it in shaded beds, borders, window boxes, patio pots, and hanging baskets, watering containers whenever the mix begins to dry. ## Maintenance Keep the root area evenly moist but avoid waterlogged soil. Check containers more often during warm, bright weather, since pots dry faster than beds.
